Brian Cowen is going to miss his Willie

Awful frustrating being in work while the Willie O’Dea saga unfolded and having no radio or TV. Twitter was very entertaining though, especially all the #willieheadlines

I don’t buy the line that a single tweet by Senator Dan Boyle is responsible for O’Dea resigning. It just sped up his demise. Boyle could have said what he did in a radio interview and had the same impact. Would people suddenly be in awe of the “power of the radio”. I don’t think so.

No doubt the social media guru types are going to be in demand over the next couple of days on radio, tv and print media talking about that tweet. Great news for them but for the rest of us normal people it’s work as usual in the morning. The world will keep spinning, Twitter or not.
