Feckin’ Italians do it over here, and now the Taiwanese do it over there. They take our humble spud and make a fast food business out of it. Would the Taiwanese allow an Irish person to sell them Thai food? NO they most definitely wouldn’t.

AJ, it rarely happens: I don’t get your point.
Columbus introduced the potato to Europe – after his travails and his compass led him to the wrong continent. Why shouldn’t the Irish variety be enjoyed anywhere in the world? Deep fried, mashed, roasted, gratin or turning green and sprouting.
To ease whatever your grievance is: The whole thing probably just a publicity stunt of the Irish tourism office. Hope you are prepared for the overseas invasion with peeler in hand.
