CorkFloods

It’s been a rough week weatherwise in many parts of the country. Cork was very badly hit. Above is Fitzgerald’s park, situated right beside the River Lee. No doubt it would have been full of activity on any other Autumn weekend.

I love those rich autumn colours.

Judging by your photo even good old fisherman’s thigh high boots wouldn’t keep the wet out. As an aside: Have you ever squelched about in sodden wellies? Gives a whole new perspective on both the concept of what’s fair and why there is so much water in the world. Aren’t even our bodies mostly H2O, if ever there was something to make you think about global warNing: Either we’ll swell or we’ll evaporate.

As to your caption: What difference the addition of one little letter (like ‘d’) can make and divert one’s brain into bracken water. Considering that there are so many things in the world to be angry about, and I am sure Orwell would agree, anger – providing it’s channelled properly – is a force not to be avoided but one which is life propelling.
