Actually, grammatically, the graffiti is correct. U2 is a singular noun, therefore the correct form of the verb “to be” is the third person singular.

AJ, as grammar goes it’s a good question. I won’t give you the lesson right now as to the correct answer since I don’t want to spoil the rest of what’s left of your Sunday afternoon.
To think that Eric Clapton once was “God”.
On the whole I am all for “graffity” providing it not only brightens up grey walls but is intelligent into the bargain.

PS You do know, of course, that I can gauge your current mood and well-being by the choice of your header, don’t you?

@Ursula Do you think his head’s in a messy place at the moment then? Gone is the tranquil of last week.

Darren, hi. Who knows. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that AJ’s head is “in a messy place at the moment”. For that to ever be the case he seems far too measured, even at times of acute distress. He appears to muster a liberal sprinkling of discipline, topped and coated with a not too sweetened layer of wry observations as to mankind’s shenanigans.
And then there is AJ’s sheer output – on many a diverse subject. You’ll never be bored on lecraic, that’s for sure. And, yes, you are quite right, last week we were cradled in a meadow, this week we crash into some wall – albeit a colourful one.
