This week’s header image on le craic

Gorgeous photograph taken somewhere in County Wicklow. Literally jumped out when I was browsing Flickr. Great shot.
For some reason this story popped into my head when I saw the image.
Four young men sit by the bedside of their dying father. The old man, with his last breath, tells them there is a huge treasure buried in the family fields. The sons crowd around him crying, “Where, where?” but it is too late.
The day after the funeral and for many days to come, the young men go out with their picks and shovels and turn the soil, digging deeply into the ground from one end of each field to the other. They find nothing and, bitterly disappointed, abandon the search.
The next season the farm had its best harvest ever.

Well, AJ, you certainly got me there: I could barely suppress urge to rush out and make a daisy chain to grace my crowning glory. As nimble fingered pleasures go it is one of the cheapest – providing you can find an as yet untamed lawn or a field full of flowers.

I love the header. Daisies and dandelions add great colour and I have a garden full of them!
