David Jones – Jobless and Proud
By
Twitter – it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Wouldn’t have know about this without it.
The man above is David Jones who lost his job in January. He’s been employed all his life, and quite naturally, this came as a big shock. He went looking for a book to help him through this difficult period, but there wasn’t one.
So he sat down and wrote one in 4 days. The book covers how to cope with the trauma of being told you’ve lost your job, how to get debts under control, find out about entitlements and how to get a new job.
Last Tuesday (10th February) he was interviewed on Newstalk about the book and mentioned that he was going to set up a website to distribute it. Maryrose Lyons of Brightspark Consulting was listening and got in contact to offer a free website to David to do just that.
Have a read of the “How it happened” page for the full detail. It’s just a great example of a group of people pulling together to make something happen in super quick time.
Hats off to each and every one of them. Great stuff.
The book is currently free and will go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday 18th February) for €4.99
