The real Shorty Awards Winner 2008

By

Anyone on Twitter will be aware of the ShortyAwards. The Shorty Awards is an open competition to recognise the “Best producers of short content in 2008”. Any of the 4 million or so users of Twitter were asked to nominate people who contributed most to the Twitter universe during the year.

There were many categories, one of which was personal. An Irish man, John Williams, reached the final and fought a great campaign but was up against a Twitter user with 27,000 followers.

John has 870 followers and received 373 votes. His competitor (the one with all those thousands) received 484 votes.

Who do you think the real winner is?

The image above is a mosaic of avatars of a selection of those who voted for the Irishman who flew the flag, giving us all a lesson in setting a goal and going for it.

That is a brilliant pic AJ. Yes, I do agree that McAWilliams really should have won – that fat fake cow shouldn’t even have been in that category…
