AJ, whilstt I cannot share fond memories of Tayto – thank god – I too am old enought to remember how much little money could buy at the corner shop, oh those jars full of colour and excitement.

The greedy ones of that generation became dentists – serves them right now that toothpastes’ technology has marched forward too. Most worringly one of Felix’s friends, a complete hoot – studying English Literature – wants to become a dentist (How can anyone’s ambition at age 17 be to look into other people’s mouth?). One advantage of the job, I suppose, that you can do all the talking whilst having patient prostrate and terrified. Still, Tom is so elegantly eloquent I promised him business once the time for dentures comes.

I can still remember the packets with that old-school Tayto logo.
Although I think they cost me around 28p or something
