Irish Rail says throw gays from the train
By
A while ago I wrote a little bit about a sign that appeared in a property for rent in Belfast. It said that it was NOT available to any foreigners. I continued on to say that we are an odd life form. Anyone different is singled out.
Reading Mulley.net today I learned that Irish Rail have a sign up that says same sex couples aren’t allowed to use a companion travel pass on trains. It seems that according to the rules of this state, if you are an unmarried couple of opposite sex you CAN have a pass but NOT if you are a same sex couple.
There is no logic to this. It is more than a little shocking that in the 21st Century, public servants working on Irish railways are being issued with notices that basically allow them to throw people off a train because of their sexual preference.
How about the Department get tough on drug dealing scum who claim social welfare and travel passes, and then use these passes to courier their vile cargo countrywide? Nah, much easier to target law abiding citizens who just want to get on with their lives.
