Is the photo of Scissor Sister Charlotte Hall faked?

The big photo story of the week is the one that first appeared in the Evening Herald showing ‘Scissor Sister’ killer, Charlotte Hall with knife in hand inside a prison kitchen.
When I saw it first, I had an impression that there was something “odd” about the photograph itself. Didn’t really give it much more thought than that though.
I took a closer look today and it still looks odd. Zooming in on the hand and the handle of the knife makes me think this is a photoshop job. It just looks wrong. The reflection in the blade of the knife is something I can’t figure out either. Again, it just looks wrong…
I’d love to get my hands on the original image to have a look in more detail and ask for some other expert opinions.
Right now, I’m of the opinion that the image is faked. The hand was just resting there and someone thought it would be funny to photoshop a knife in. I’m sure Independent News and Media would have forensically examined the image to ensure they weren’t fooled, wouldn’t they?

It does like a bit like she’s not holding the knife, after all if you were holding a knife in a jokey pose you’d probably have a good grip on it. You’d hardly drape your arm over the back of a chair and then let it hang loosely around the handle of the knife. And that knife isn’t being gripped really is it? You could be on to something there alright.

NO that you mention is it does look like her hand is just resting on the back of the chair and the reflection is suspicious.
The real questions are: - why is prison so much fun? How did she get a birthday cake and a knife? Why is she fraternising with male prisoners? Where is she? It looks like a laundry room. She’s wearing earrings and civis - don’t they have a standard uniform in prison - like black and white stripes or something?

ah Lottie, other blogs and media will tackle all those issues , and much better than I can - the photoshop angle is more suited to this blog
