They could do a talent search like the BBC did a while back? Tubridy's been off air for 5 weeks and mentioned he was set on a luxury holiday by RTE for No Frontiers .. I mean seriously, this beggars belief. Gerry Ryan goes off for a month, Pat Kenny, Joe Duffy et. al - I mean what sort of organisation effectively closes down like that during the summer? The fact that they are all so comfortable means they don't innovate like a commercial operation would. RTE keep churning out cheap reality tv/lifestyle/home improvements programmes and chat shows.

I really have issues with the amount the likes of Tubridy get paid. The argument that they have to be paid this to keep the talent is rubbish. Where are they going to go to? TV3? BBC? Tubridy couldn't hack the 6am start for his 2FM show when he was doing it and they moved the start back to 7am to accomodate him so I doubt he'd hack any move to anywhere that wasn't within spitting distance of his house.

Ah i think presenting a tv show and sales are very different. With TV the most important thing is to be relaxed as if your over prepared or over practiced you come across as being stiff. As a presenter if your highly strung or appearing focused how can you expect your guests to relax?

Anyway whats wrong with being comfortable in your job??? I think its really important staff are comfortable and confident that their job is not on the line, even if they make the occasional slip up.

Not saying I'm a Tuberty fan. But who in RTE could/should replace him? (Rick O Shea would get my vote, but other than that im at a loss).

Ps. Nice Pic. :)
