Seeing the wonderful images of the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics, I was inspired to do a photo painting from one of them. You can see the original here, it’s the first one on the page.
Although I’m not a big sports fan and won’t be watching a lot of the event, I admire the hard work and dedication of our Olympic team. I can only imagine what a proud moment it must be to walk into an Olympic Stadium representing your country and knowing everyone back home is behind you 110%.
Even if it happens that no medals make their way back to Ireland, they’ll have flown the flag for Ireland and join an elite group of Irish men and women to have done so.
