Irish Times website

No matter how many times I see it, the .com just looks wrong. It’s lower case and looks to be a different typeface as well. Actually, why bother with the .com at all? Why not just do like the London Times and call it: IRISHTIMESONLINE

The introduction of the site is very welcome though :-)

Ditto. not mad about the red either - whats the obsession with red. a nice blue would be better.

The “.com” jars quite badly for me. I like the main font, but something just isn’t right with the red .com.

I saw a small local paper redesign the other day where they’ve gone for a very modern tabloid lay-out and approach, but kept the traditional gothic masthead - it looked awful and I really like a bit of gothic normally.

That and this almost seem like afterthoughts and not properly worked through.

You’re right, the “.com” seems bad, but the general layout is pretty good. Looks like http://www.lemonde.fr and other famous online newspaper.

I’ve only skimmed through it today but I like the layout too, but my ocd-like fixation on the .com spoils the viewing experience :-)
