Ok so I may be a bit biased living in Blackpool but its not just the voice its the whole performance. I will agree that Jodie wasnt the best singer and probably not the best actress but overall I think she did well. She has been very popular in the TV show and on teh stage. Infact her contract was only supposed to be 6 months she has completed 2 years I think.
Lets hope Over the Rainbow manages to direct the public to teh best person for teh job.

jessie without a doubt should have won, anyone with ears can tell that she has a much better voice!! I think that the emotion in jessie's preformances is incredible, very believeable. On the other had jodie's emotion is kind of samey!! I cant believe that the majority of the british public actually liked jodie better!! i refuse to believe it, jessie was just in another league compered to her!! Jessie will always be my nancy!!

Oops! For Tamsin, substitute Denise. For some reason I can't get Tamsin Outhwaite out of my head lately.

No Alex, that is not what is being said. What I mean is that in any competition the playing field should be level. That is that everyone is given an equal chance. The Isle of Man could vote for Sam, and did. She didn't win. Blackpool and the rest of Lancashire could vote for Jodie, and did. On the other hand no-one in Jessie's home town, Killarney let alone County Kerry were allowed to vote for her. Why? The answer is in this week's Radio Times. It is BBC policy not to allow voting from outside the UK because outsiders do not pay a licence fee. You can send us your finest talent for our competitions but we aint Gonna let you vote for them. For all I or you know there may have been people in Ireland wishing to vote for Jodie or Sam. I am not suggesting for one moment that had there been an Irish vote then Jessie would have won. On the voting system operating on the night Jodie won fair and square. It was not her fault that her competion was deprived of an equal chance in the final.
As for the perfomances on the night. John and Tamsin said to Jessie that she had not been consistent throughout the series and therefore she did not deserve to win. That is like telling the team that scores the most goals in the cup final, that they are not the winners because their opponents played better in the previous rounds. That is just plain barmy. You might just as well scrub round the final altogether. In my humble opinion, for what it's worth, I think that Jessie performed better than the other two in the final. Although the British public have got it right in the previous competitions I do honestly believe that on this occasion we got it wrong. I am English and I've lived here all my life. In the recent Britain's Got Talent competition I have seen a phenomenally talented young girl in my home town voted out of the top three. Her name is Faryl Smith. Remember that name. The British public got it wrong again.

Oh! so if there had been a irish vote and no doubt jessie would have won that would have been ok then??? Winning purely because of racist voting.

The public voted the best choice, so get over it.

Jessie not winning is another example of why the public should not be allowed to vote in general elections!!!!

I don't have any details, but every agent and casting director watches this show. Which means that there is usually something for all the finalists to do.

@Ida : The tears seemed over the top - can't remember her being quite so emotional before.

@Michael : Yes, loved that duet she did - it was brilliant. I don't get why the beeb didn't open up the vote to Irish voters as other networks in the UK open lines for Irish votes. An Irish vote just might have swung it for her but we'll never know I guess.

@Jennell : Ida didn't say the voting public was wrong, but that the wrong person won in the end. We each have our own views and I'm with Ida!

@Michael : It's a risk the producers take and in this case I think Mackintosh might regret taking his production through this process.

@Sheila : I'm not as enthused about going to see Jodie in London either. If Jessie is in something else in the West End at the same time I'll definitely be happier to make the trip over.

@Eileen : Have you got insider info? Do tell!!
