Strangers on the train, exchanging glances

By

Do you remember this story from a few months back. A guy sets up a website called NYGirlOfMyDreams.com to try and find a girl he saw on the subway and really liked? Apparantly, the whole of New York rallied behind this story and eventually he made contact with the girl of his dreams. Nobody is quite sure what the status of their relationship is at the moment, but it is a sweet story anyway.

Flash forward to day and there is now a website which was inspired by all of this. It’s called Subway Crush and it allows people to post messages like this :

“You know I was looking at you and I know you were looking at me. As if my smile isn’t enough to get you to say hi, I gave you a wink too. I may not be the young 20 something girl I was, but damn… I think I’m pretty hot!

I was the one wearing the light brown jacket and dark curly hair. We were heading up town and I’m guessing you needed another stop or two to before you walked over. Oh well, hopefully you see this.”

If someone recognises themselves from the description, they can get in touch with the original poster.

This could work in Ireland as there are often callers into radio programmes wanting to get in touch with someone they saw on the dart, bus, luas or wherever. An idea for someone.. Or maybe it’s the type of thing that could only work in the US?
