IrishAuditions.com reveal yourself

By

Doing a search for ireland on google recently I noticed an ad for Irish Auditions. The text of the ad ran “Film, TV, Reality, & Band Auditions
Casting Calls All Over Ireland”. Being nosey, I clicked on through and got a “squeeze page” which is designed to do one thing and one thing only – get you to respond with information.

In this case, the information being sought is your name, mobile phone number and email address. Hang on a sec, my MOBILE number? What is that needed for? The answer comes right at the bottom of the page, and almost out of view.

“Audition alert service. Texts cost 2.50 euro per message on 57030. Maximum of two messages per week. Bill-payers permission required. SP MTL 0818300048 PO Box 1118 D8. To opt out text stop. 18+”

These text services are parasitic businesses and ought to be curtailed by the communications regulator. If this was a legitimate business with a website, you would have contact information on the site. This is not the case with Irishauditions. You can’t even see who owns the website as it is a Private Registration with “Domains by Proxy”.

Do a search for irish auditions on google and the ad should show up, then click the shit out of it if you are so inclined!

AGREED! 100%
These are subscription services, overpriced and difficult to unsubscribe once you’re on.
Just like the dating ad’s etc on tv they are seeking to take advantage of people.
Incidentally the way to get casting is via an agency NOT a text from some call centre.
